With the near year at hand and an annual struggle for supremacy, we’reto partner with the newly administered Hip Hop International Philippines, with their drive to bring the nation’s best to compete in the upcoming HHI Championships in Arizona this coming August 5-11, 2018.

But before anything else, a process of elimination will be held nationwide to qualify and represent the Philippines in the USA. The Visayas leg will be held on Feb 17, 2018, while the Mindanao leg will be held a week after that on Feb 24, 2018.

The National Championships will be held immediately a day after, following the Luzon leg on April 21, 2018. Details regarding the venue have yet to be disclosed, but we’ve been teased by the HHIPH Facebook page, announcing judges for the nationals with the likes of 2017 Just de Bout Japan Popping 2 on 2 Battle Winner Kite Masai of Japan, and 2016 MNet Asian Music Awards Choreographer of the Year Apissara JDA Phetreungrong of Thailand.

More names are to be announced with this strong start. Alongside this would be our production of exclusive HHIPH designs:

Stay tuned on our Facebook and Instagram for announcements once these items go on sale. What gear will you be grabbing?

Erik Javier for Love Army

Welcome to the Love Army: Target Series. Starting here we’ll be featuring people who are notable at doing what they do, in hopes to possibly inspire. First on the spotlight – Erik Javier.

The other night I was able to set some time again with one of the people who supported Love Army since it was born. This time though, we weren’t set to shoot any dance video, rather, just a casual walk around the sleeping city of Makati. This is probably the only time we’ve actually hung out again since after making Don’t Judge Me.

Would you believe that this guy is actually a Microbiologist? Yes. He worked for P&G at some point and currently, he’s still hustlin’ on the side outside of dance with a Health and Wellness company.

In fact, before finally shooting with this guy, he came from a meeting which held our session to further start around 12:30am. Manila Hustle.

That passion-pushin’ in choreography work though boiled onto earning classes down at Big Shift Studios, winning the Championships in Las Vegas with The Crew, choreographing for celebrities, and lately – his title of Hip Hop International Judge. In his hands now lay life changing decisions for dancers and crews who dare enter the international scene which is held annually in Las Vegas in the USA.

In one of Love Army’s Instagram posts, we referred to DJ Jet Boado as a Soldier of Beats. Nice ring to it, yeah? Soldier of Motion – that’s how I’d like to refer to this guy now, and it’ll pretty much be the same with everybody in the dance niche.

Hip Hop International Philippines

After seeking through the far ends of the Philippines, Hip Hop International has made it’s final stop to finish up the NCR Leg this January 18 and 19 over at the SMX Convention Center.

If we can describe in one word what Love Army fully supports, it’s “PASSION“. And one thing sure about these people who have braved into venturing towards their dreams into the HHI scene is that they are full of passion – and we love it. The vibe of every member of every crew down just oozes out in such warmth that it… as well as the show of support from family and friends… well, it just feels awesome.

Great news! Love Army’s been bestowed the title of “Official Partner” for the local franchise of the Hip Hop International aka HHI.

As we’ve always pushed, people should do what they love. And with such passionate people in the field of dance, this is a great honor.

With such a tremendous and shining representation of the nation ever since we remember it, from the Philippine All Stars to The Crew and all other PH crews in the game, it’s only just that we get to finally have Hip Hop International Philippines!

As the HHI Team goes up north in Baguio where the Flight just came from, Love Army shirts will be sold onsite as we will be printing Official HHI Shirts – classic ones and Love Army special edition designs!

Love Army as HHI Philippines Partner

Soon in the game, we hope to bring caps, hoodies, and tanks, and maybe even bags in the game for this prestigious event in the dance community.

Until then, please don’t forget to follow HHI Philippines on FB. While you’re at it, subscribe to us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube!

The Filipino B-Boy Prodigy

Remember this kid? It’s probably hard because you’re seeing his face upside down. He’s one of the two kids who played brothers in Rudimental’s “Not Giving In music video which was shot here in Manila.

If you haven’t watched the video yet, we’ve made it easier for you so don’t you dare not press PLAY. There are literally so many things to love – the story, the characters, the dance, the cinematography, the relativity to the situation of society, you name it.

His name is Allen Añas, 12 years old as of this post. He won the latest True Hip Hop Elements (T.H.E.) Grind dance competition, and he’s going to be representing the Philippines in the upcoming Red Bull BC One Asia-Pacific Finals in Fukuoka, Japan this coming October.

Allen’s the youngest participant in the said event and is now being given the title of being The Filipino B-Boy Prodigy.

Brian Puspos and Ian Eastwood

A week from now International Choreographers Brian Puspos and Ian Eastwood are both coming to Manila as PusWood.

Both are scheduled to hold their dance classes in Big Shift Studios down at A-Venue in Makati City starting March 22-24.

Together with Big Shift and Rocketeer, we thought to ourselves, why not finally implement a mark for PusWood? And so the PusWood logo was born, alongside an original illustration by Love Army for the very first PusWood shirts.

The apparel will be made available on during the classes so make sure you attend and snap one up! Send us a photo soon enough once you get it.

As of this posting, slots are already filled up and only March 23 classes are the remaining ones you can reserve.

For more info, you can visit Big Shift Studios or Rocketeer Inc.
