Looking up streetwear in Seoul / South Korea is quite challenging as I planned our visit considering the fact that like Japan, they use their own Korean characters. But there has to be a source! In comes IconSupply Co.
We had an exchange of messages on Facebook and managed to visit their shop (Waylon:Shop) more than a couple of times in Myeong-dong, which is situated in Abbey Street – a floor full of international streetwear brands. Also met the founder and President of the brands – Song, alongside all the other members of the company, down in their headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul.
Had the great privilege of checking out their private showroom, which was undergoing further improvement at that time, as well as share some stories with Song who hails from the Skateboarding culture, which then moved on to a lot of Surfing in many parts of the globe.
Whenever you go out, it’s always a win-win situation when you go out your way and make new friends. Cheers to that! And a mighty shoutout to Jihyung for making the meet possible.
